Pensions Ombudsman's Determination On Commutation

A recent determination by the Pensions Ombudsman on commutation factors may have implications for police officers who retired from 1 December 2001 to 30 November 2006.

This circular provides the background to a complaint, by a retired firefighter, to the Pensions Ombudsman of maladministration against the Government Actuary’s Department (GAD) in respect of commutation factors.
