We are sad to announce and mourn the passing of David Murfin (BEM) aged 80 years.
David joined Lancashire Police in 1961 and transferred to York City Police in 1966 and retired from North Yorkshire Police in 1990. David spent his formative years in Richmond North Yorkshire where he served his time as a plumber with a local firm.
David was a totally committed Police Federationist and was nationally respected serving as Chair of North Yorkshire Police Joint Branch Board from 1981 to 1990 when he was awarded his British Empire Medal for services to the whole Police community.
David was married to Dorothy, his soulmate and was the Father of Mark and Hilary and a proud Grandfather.
David's funeral is to be held at St Edwards Church, Dringhouses on Thursday 16th February 2017 at 11.45am. A wake will follow at the Marriott Hotel following the service.
