Whilst our current chairman Mike Stubbs looks forward to his retirement later this summer, a new chair of our branch board has recently been elected, and will work alongside Mike from 1st April this year, completing a detailed handover.
Rob Bowles comes to the chairs role from a varied policing career locally and nationally. Currently the head of the force control room for North Yorkshire Police, Rob started his career as a Police Constable in York, moving to uniform roles at Thirsk and Harrogate, and a spell within CID. Having also worked at HMIC in London, Rob has a deep understanding of the issues affecting our members, and wants to continue to develop the way in which North Yorkshire Police Federation interacts with its members, ensuring that their role and welfare is paramount, alongside the development of policing for our communities.
