Police Dependant's Trust

Police Dependant's Trust

The purpose of the Police Dependants' Trust (http://www.pdtrust.org/) is to assist in cases of need:

• dependants of police officers, or former police officers, who die, or have died, as a result of an injury received in the execution of duty;
•police officers, or former police officers, who are, or have been, incapacitated as a result of an injury received in the execution of duty, or dependants of such officers.

They also make grants to charities that have as their objective the relief of sickness, or mental and physical disabilities, of police officers, or former police officers. For example the Trust has given grants of £500,000 to both the Southern and Northern Police Convalescent Homes towards the cost of the building extensions.

How does the Trust help?

Where need is established, they can help in a number of ways:

  • Assistance Grants
  • Special Purpose Grants
  • Education Grants
  • Residential Care Grants
  • Bereavement Grants
